About living in Qatar_Rental Houses near to Qatar University

Dear Friends, I will be landing in Qatar by the end of December and stay period is for 6 months. I will be working at Qatar university. Can some kindly full fill me the following queries:

1) Is it possible to get the accommodation (housing 1 BHK) near to university. If so please provide me the areas in a walk-able distance to university. (As, i had lost my Indian driving license; it's gonna take some time to get my new licence).

2) Are there any Indian/International community in the university. If so, requesting the same.

3) Regarding the accommodation, is it possible to get the house without making a contract or only by contract period of 6 months. Kindly provide me the mail ID's real estate agents so i can contact them.
