My Experience on New/Changing Plate Number in Qatar

Good day,

Posting this to help someone who is confused on how to change/get a new plate number in Qatar.

Requirements

a. Valid Vehicle Liscense (Estimara)

b. ATM Card (Credit/Debit)

I had mine changed at the Industrial Area Traffic Regulation Department.

1. Drive in to the yard, the firsts stop will request your vehicle liscence and input on system.

2.You shall proceed to the next unit, where someone (a lady in my case) will be waiting to get your vehicle liscence and she will ask the size of your plate number (Long, short or Small), she will request your ATM pin (type it on your phone and show it, no need to dispute you giving out your atm pin, thats the procedure).

3. Then proceed to the next unit where a technician will give collect your ATM receipt and estimara to print your plate number and fix for you immediately.

4. You shall proceed to the exit of the gate where a man will check if the number corresponds with estimara and record same.

In total I spent 8mins and I was there on a sunday morning (around 10am). The process is super simple and easy, not neccessary you can speak arabic because most of the personnel can speak little english (enough for your kinda communication).
