As residents and citizens are excited for the country’s first-ever railway network which opened on May 8, we also visited Doha Metro to experience the ride!

The line currently operates from Al Qassar (near The St Regis Doha) to Al Wakra. We picked Msheirib station as our starting point and traveled all the way to Wakra and back.

Did you get a chance to take your first ride on the Doha Metro? If not, here are few steps to follow in order to use the Doha Metro.

Step 1: Lookout for the Doha Metro flags. The stations which has flag outside are operational.

Step 2: You can purchase tickets or travel cards from either Metro office inside the station or vending machines. You can pay by card or cash.

Step 3: Scan your ticket or the travel card at the Metro gate.

Step 4: You can check out the map which explains the route of your journey. It shows the line, stops, and final destination.

Step 5: Entrance to the train is divided into VIP, Family, and Standard.

Step 6: Exit at your final destination and ride the Metro bus to your destination for free.

Checkout the prices of tickets and travel cards.

Know more about Metro timings.

Enjoy your ride with Doha Metro!

Informational, thank you. But the title is expressly misleading. Article does not include "everything you need to know". Please add a good scan of the current routes, a web link to the Doha Metro site, currently (estimated) predictions (by DM) of when might the connecting routes (like airport) go online, and perhaps some interior pics of the terminals and trains (gives a better idea of amenities for clueless interested readers). :)
