Wither Indian football?

Watching the India-Australia match I was on the Indian side, not only mentally, but also physically in both half times. The reason of course was the game was on the Indian defence most of the time. Despite playing full fledged defence the game was lost for 4-0, even which is viewed as as "achievement". This should inspire some soul searching on the part of Indians. While giving undue weightage to the dying game of Cricket (you can also call it the betting game), Indians should try to make a mark in the real game, which is football. Despite having well over one billion souls that we cant beat Bahrain or Qatar (Qatar beating China is not an excuse) is indeed shameful.

Football in India is making good progress.I have seen serious football bieng played in places like Kerala and Karnataka. They have some strong leagues there.Everywhere else,I believe it will take time.

The Indians played much better last night than against the Aussies,at times they had better possession, other times they troubled the Bahraini defence. There was determination in their playing style.
