it should mean a kind of pearl found in the sea by sailors.

lulu is an arabic term and Lulu is very precious thing in the bottom of the sea.

I asked our Indian driver this same question. He's from Kerala, which is also where the owner(s) of the store are from, so I thought he'd know.

He started to laugh and said his friend, who works for LuLu, says it stands for: "Load up! Load up!"
