Qatar’s Haroun sets world's best time
STOCKHOLM: Qatar’s 19-year-old Abdalelah Haroun became the first man to run 500M under one minute, in 59.83sec, at the Globengalen meet in Stockholm, Sweden, on Tuesday.
The runner, who is coached by Jama Aden, bettered the mark set by American Brycen Spratling (1:00.06) last year.
Though the 500M race is not an offical IAAF event, it still shows the youngster is in the form of his life.
It will make him a hot prospect to watch out for at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha on Friday.
He is slated to run in 400 as well as the 4x400M relay events.
Well done to Aspire and Haroun..
