Importation of medication(s)
I have seen variants of this question here before but never seen a full answer.
Does anyone know if for some reason a particular medication is not available in Qatar whether there is a legal mechanism or process for bringing it in to the country?
Is there a particular government department or agency that should be contacted? or a Customs clearance company?
Any feedback much appreciated.
You work out with your physician at home how much you will need for your time away. It's also possible to have a friend carry it for you.
@slayerfaith - so how do you obtain a permit? Or does anyone else out there know?
@Mandilulur - That works for a while but what if you run out and it is something you have to keep taking? Do you have to keep flying in and out of the country or is there another way to deal with this?
You are allowed to carry medicines for as long as it is for personal consumption only. Just bring the prescription along with the receipt. If, the medicine will come from another country and to be courier to you in Doha, you have to obtain a permit or else, the medicines will be under the safekeeping of the Postal Office, till you provide substantial documents. For a period of time and you havent done that, the medicines will be returned to the sender.
If it is for your own consumption and you have the prescription just bring it in with you in your handbag.
