My wife is preganant and she is holding family visa under my sponsership. She is taking consultation from private gynecologist.

If we are taking private consultations, what will be the procedures of delivering our baby in goverment or private hospital in Qatar?

Its exactly true what the fellow QLers have suggested u..The only difference between govt.and private is that the former is cheaper option then the later..I used to visit PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE till my 8th month of pregnancy..I was referred to HAMAD from 8th months onward but i choose the private hospitals coz i hate to wait for long and also the queues at the govt.hospital..

If u have insurance its well and gud and if not u really need to spend a lot during delivery if u'l choose private ones..FYI,I had spent QR 12000 for my c-section(no isurance at all)..But it was worth it..

Rest depends on ur decision..Best luck to ur wife..

if you have time .the private doctor will give you a referral to womens hospital on the 8TH MONTH of mothers pregnancy.

bring this together with your marriage contact, sponsors(husband) QID and mothers QID.

and don't forget to bring the baby book for the doctors queries about the baby.

In case of emergency and you don't have referral yet.just bring with you the QID and marriage certificates and the baby book(record).

u could keep privet consultation till 1 month prior to delivery.

if u decide to continue in privet, fair enough, other wise u have to start consultation in women hospital at least 1 month prior to delivery for creating records

go to Hamad and open your file immediatley... in any case of emergency they will forward to Hamad only.

Best of luck...

your life is going to be changed, of course for best
