Because it clearly showed that there are two types of people,

type1 thinks

that the wife who decide to do the house work and make every thing ready for her husband using what ever facilities she has such as maid or no maids is a slave.

type2 thinks

that the wife who decide to do the house work and make every thing ready for her husband using what ever facilities she has such as maid or no maids is an excellent wife.

Other than this I must say that the excellent wife, is the wife which understand her husband, relief his stress when he is angry, ....etc.

same goes for the excellent husband.

At the end both the husband and the wife are responsible for the success of the marriage life.

Ladies and gents, this is in the FUNNIES and should be "funny", not to be taken seriously. This was presumably made up for womans day, not sure which year. So lighten up everybody.

As I said earlier .. I don't believe it's real . Having said that , the discussion shows that there are different opinions - so it seems that one size does not fit all and what works for one may not for the other ..

My bad Fubar.  I believe Speed ( or diet pills as they were called then) were quite popular as well.  Keep that slim figure AND get all your housework done quick as a bunny!

i thought this site can unite and learn people to develop and grow in an environment full of orchestrated personality and open for the opinion and side of the story of each individual  without seeing these kind of reactions in the whole essence of it. but i think i am mistaken. its a subject i just put my own side of the story and it does not reflect the opinion of others or individualistic approach of anyone.

Hmmm I would be interested to get a range of contemporary Middle Eastern female perspectives on that piece of text - for comparative purposes.

Don't just blame valium... plenty of housewives were abusing phenacetin in the 60s as well. And then there were the stories about women enjoying the spin cycle, to help them ease their way through their tedious, meaningless lives.

Yes.  Don't question anything EVER.

or what? Are yopu all questioning the behavior of our parents?  They had their time, we have ours, so let's leave it that way!

MBR, it was because all these housewives were popping loads of Valium and drinking the cooking sherry whenever they got the chance.   Pills and Booze makes every housewife a happy wife.

if you are a devoted wife to your husband and children, you will not think as being a slave  whenever wake up in the morning early to prepare food and prepare their things for work and school rather its a marital duty as part of what you have vowed for.  being a wife to your husband and a mother to your children is incomparable that no career can ever surpass. it is the essence of being a woman.

SA, why does she not deserve for her husband to make a good home for her but she is expected to make a good home for him regardless of how she is treated - it is contradictory and VERY old fashioned, wake up and smell the 21st century, even in this region.

By anonymous• 2 Aug 2011 12:49
anonymous

Fubar, that's what valium and wine are for, then every wifes a happy wife.

By fubar• 2 Aug 2011 12:47

I just wonder how a house can be a wonderful place is the woman is unhappy about being treated like a servant.  Sounds like an awful environment to raise kids in.

By anonymous• 2 Aug 2011 12:45
anonymous

And a woman's part in the foundation is based on cooking, cleaning and popping out babies, right SA.

By Straight Arrow• 2 Aug 2011 12:41
Straight Arrow

Because in this case she will not be deserved to be a queen, or in other words she will not be fitted to be a queen, and non fitted queen will spoil her kingdome.

The house is like is made of foundations and if one of these foundations is weak then at the end the house will fall down, same for the marriage life.

And by the way I have put a link for you on your thread The big bang for website which has 800 articles, each article is maybe 2-3 pages, it is up to you and others to look if they want.

By anonymous• 2 Aug 2011 12:26

Joke of the century: Which is better a woman who makes her house a fantastic place to live in..?Answering your question: The better way is when a man makes the house a fantastic place to live in. Then she can be a princess or a queen. Right, SA?

By jjj75• 2 Aug 2011 12:21
jjj75

SA - if the house is not tidy or dirty and it does not bother the wife, but it bothers the husband, I suggest the husband does something about it.

By anonymous• 2 Aug 2011 12:16
anonymous

Why would the house be miserable if the maid does the cleaning?  I know having a maid makes my life and my husbands life much easier, and therefore we are both happier for it.  Rather than fighting over who does what household chore.

By Straight Arrow• 2 Aug 2011 12:14
Straight Arrow

what does equal mean if your house is miserable place and like a rubbish.

I liked this advice in which a mum said to her daughter be for your husband like a land he will be like a sky for you,.....,etc.

The whole idea is that both should treat each other equally and respectively.

By Straight Arrow• 2 Aug 2011 12:11
Straight Arrow

and vice versa, the most important thing is that both understand each other and agree on the common goals.

Be for your wife what you want her to be for you, if not then do not criticise her.

No one answered the second question yet.

The joke of the century will be if LLP answers one of them.

gtrman, I posted this as i found it FUNNY, and do not think that it is right at all. I do not agree to what is written, in my household we are both equal.

By Straight Arrow• 2 Aug 2011 11:38

Marriage ---> Family ------> good family -------> no problems ------> healthy environment -----> good society --------> better country

The marriagle is a balance between the husband and the wife, it is based on understanding each other.

The smart women will not disturb her husband for silly reasons like it is 10:00 PM and he is sleeping and she comes to make her hair with this noisy device at 10:15 PM in the same room, she can do it the next day when he goes for work.

Life is about doing things at the correct time.

I have a question to all of you who disagree on this post, how the wife will be a slave if she wake up before her husband and make the breakfast ready for him?

Which is better a woman who makes her house a fantastic place to live in or a woman who throws every thing on the maid and the house will be miserable place to live in?

Gee SA... you allow your wife any kind of enjoyment?

By britexpat• 2 Aug 2011 11:22

I doubt whether this is real.. BUT .. there is no harm in ladies taking note ..

"Should your husband  suggest congress then agree humbly all the while being mindful that a  man's satisfaction is more important than a woman's.  When he reaches  his moment of fulfilment, a small moan from yourself isencouraging to  him and quite sufficient to indicate any enjoyment that you may have had."

You are probably right about that.. Perhaps the author meant 1860 and not 1960.. I guess then it would be appropriate, right? My grandma was 30 years old in 1960 and had 5 kids but I am sure even she did not put up that kind of crap with  my grandpa.. And they were in India..

By fubar• 2 Aug 2011 11:15

I think you mean "men were much happier then".  Women certainly weren't.

Kareena74 - no it did not happen, the 60's were a time of liberation, I know my mother was in her 20's in the 1960's and she would no more have put up with this than I would now (BTW she is a lawyer, so no messing with her).

Just look at the hairstyle and clothes, I think that is a bit of a giveaway as to the decade.
