IQ/RQ Test

Test your thinking:

3400 students in the US, only 17 per cent got all three right. Can you do any better?

1) A bat and a ball cost $1.10 in total. The bat costs $1 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?

2) If it takes five machines 5 minutes to make five widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?

3) In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day, the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of it?

I'll give you the right answers later.

Yalla!

oh boy, seems that my IQ had flew away...

what's an RQ ? :(

******

as i checked, i found this:

"What's Your Readiness Quotient?

In recent years, the American people have been urged to “get ready” and to prepare for emergencies – from natural disasters to terrorist attacks. But no one has ever given the public a simple, comprehensive and consistent tool to actually measure how prepared they are. No one has ever provided individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole with a practical “gauge” to assess their preparedness, recognize their successes and identify gaps where more work needs to be done....

********

but how is it connected to IQ?

birdie, the questions were too easy as long as they come under IQ test, you expect the tricks, but if you were in a normal state/unprepared you sure gonna miss one at least, as the above 83% students did.

anyway, try to post some more, i'm always interested in such questions.

actually, this was part of an essay done by some us and eu scientist to prove that high IQ doesn't necessarily indicate high RQ, although it's recommended by most institutes when selecting candidates, when it comes to real life decision making and social intellectuality, IQ test can never be as accurate.

they sum it as "tall basket ball players are not necessarily good players".

Zoobi, if the ball costs 10 cents, and the bat costs 1 dollar more, the bat costs 1.10. Then the total will be 1.20 $!
