IQ/RQ Test
By phoenix2009 •
Test your thinking:
3400 students in the US, only 17 per cent got all three right. Can you do any better?
1) A bat and a ball cost $1.10 in total. The bat costs $1 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?
2) If it takes five machines 5 minutes to make five widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?
3) In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day, the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of it?
I'll give you the right answers later.
Yalla!
Damn I am hungry now...
yes sandee, it really tastes sooooooo good.... my much-delayed lunch..... :P
Mabrook... Those noodles will taste really good after all the waiting you did for them ;)
sandee, my thoughts right now are focused on the spicy chicken noodle that's right in front of me... ahhhhh home at last...traffic was horrendous near the sheep market.. :P
MJ 10 minutes to salvation, what are your thoughts right now?
yeah, 2 more hours and i'll have my lunch....
I was serious MJ, I am drinking my lunch ;)
3 Beers already in, am on a diet so will have only 6 ;)
Just 2 more hours, not too bad..

oh boy, seems that my IQ had flew away...
what's an RQ ? :(
******
as i checked, i found this:
"What's Your Readiness Quotient?
In recent years, the American people have been urged to “get ready” and to prepare for emergencies – from natural disasters to terrorist attacks. But no one has ever given the public a simple, comprehensive and consistent tool to actually measure how prepared they are. No one has ever provided individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole with a practical “gauge” to assess their preparedness, recognize their successes and identify gaps where more work needs to be done....

********
but how is it connected to IQ?
birdie, the questions were too easy as long as they come under IQ test, you expect the tricks, but if you were in a normal state/unprepared you sure gonna miss one at least, as the above 83% students did.
anyway, try to post some more, i'm always interested in such questions.
Yalla!
but it is a welcome step
More questions on IQ expected
ROFL
Yalla!
If you give them one little finger ....
Don't get greedy now, Now I understand why Boston refused you a lick, you would have considered........ lol...
ok then, i'll go find me lunch my own.
sandeep, can i consider a quart as a sip??;)
Yalla!

In this case you can't, phoenix. Sorry.

I am never sleepy on off days myself Boston, Its just the working days when I am always sleepy..
MJ you hang in there sis, it's only 4 hours more ;)
I am not at all sleepy, sandee, I am trying to record a song with a fuc*** up metric. It's a mathematical problem. I just return here now and then, to relax.
sandee, aren't we all... :P
i wish our clock would go faster so it will be 4 pm already.. :(
MJ/Boston he is too sleepy to notice :P
1.) The ball costs $0.05
2.) It will take 5 minutes for 100 machines to make 100 widgets
3.) It will take 47 days for the lily pads to cover half of the lake.
And sandee started it all, with his 'having a hangover'.
phoenix, you do realize we've totally hijacked your thread... :P
yeay boston:) you see how sleepy i am? ;)
Yalla!
You probably meant your "eye lids", phoenix. If your eye brows are a problem, just shave them off.
I am working on it Boston in my typical way ;)
wicked khawaga :)
Yalla!
Working on a hangover can be very serious, sandee.
not fair at all:( i need to tape my eye brows up to my head to keep them opened
Yalla!

my brain must be switched off today,.
Ya Boston these people are working and here I am lying in my bed with a hangover ;)
It doesn't seem fair..

BTW am not an us student lol
yes boston u are right
actually, this was part of an essay done by some us and eu scientist to prove that high IQ doesn't necessarily indicate high RQ, although it's recommended by most institutes when selecting candidates, when it comes to real life decision making and social intellectuality, IQ test can never be as accurate.
they sum it as "tall basket ball players are not necessarily good players".
Yalla!
No, phoenix, I don't have any IQ!
hmmmm boston were you between the 17% ? :)
Yalla!
Zoobi, if the ball costs 10 cents, and the bat costs 1 dollar more, the bat costs 1.10. Then the total will be 1.20 $!
