MN, the "biblical flood" is a tale.

LincolnPirate: Contrary to popular belief again. The Great floods are not a tale .Black Sea artifacts prove there was a great flood about 7,000 years ago.

MN, contrary to popular belief: the Biblical Deluge is a tale that appears in almost all cultures in almost all different regions of the world.

If we assume that the story of the biblical flood is true, and if we assume that the 3 m layer of clay and sediments found along the delta of the rivers Tigris and Euphrates are the remnants of a flood, then it is always possible that tsunamis occur in the Gulf.

One thing that wont hit Qatar or other GCC countries is Tsunami.

The left side of Qatar or port side (as it is shaped like a ship) is facing Saudi the right side, starboard side is facing Iran... the tiny part that is exposed is facing the channel that leads to UAE & Oman...

The sea hardly see any heavy waves... maybe a few hours on rough days.

Audubillah...Having seen first hand the kind of devastation and damage a Tsunami can cause I hope we never experience such a trial here!

The geography of the Persian gulf makes tsunamis extremely unlikely and even if one did occur you could probably just jump over it

i know it's a lighthearted thread but read somewhere that the gulf persian countries are relatively safe from tsunamis and the sort because their surrounding waters are too shallow for a tsunami to do serious damage. Tsunamis need deep and turbulent waters which the GCC region doesn't have. It's the reason why all those mega island projects are so easily accomplished here; the calm shallow waters are perfect for it. Still, God is separate from logic and a tsunami could come our way if He wanted it to..atheists you can laugh at me now haha:-)

Following is the time proven action plan in such an emergency in Qatar.

1.Go to the highest place possible like a terrace

2.sit comfortably.

3.When you hear water rushing in to the building bring your knees up to your chest.

4.Bend over to foetal position,

5.Kiss your A55 goodbye
