The Hardest Puzzel ever came to me!!!
it took me hell of a long time to solve this puzzel, but i just couldnt put it in words, here it is:
if you wanted to buy something for 500 Riyals. and you borrowed 250 from "friend1" and 250 from "friend2" .. you bought what you wanted for 450 and you got 50 left, you gave "friend1" 10 riyals, and "friend2" 10 riyals and you got 30 left, that means you owe them 240 and 240, 240+240=480 ... 480 plus the 30 you have is 510 ?!
there is an extra 10 riyals, how did that happen?!?!
Here you loned from friend1+friend2 is = 480 only; that is equal to what you purchased + remaining balance =450+30=480.
don't calculate your loaned amount and remaining balance
=240+240+30=510 is wrong
=240+240=450+30 is correct
There is no puzzle here and bsabktr has given you the right answer.
In fact you borrowed only 240 each from them which makes a total of 480 and you spent 450 and you have the balance of 30 riyals with you.
you wanna real and harder puzzle?
Study Chess; a lifetime is not enough!
bsabuktr is correct because the idea of it is that the last part of the puzzel is incorrect, so u dont change anything in the question put the last part, so bsabuktr is the closest to the question..
ruffmind is also correct, but you changed the WHOLE format of the question.
:)
that means you owe them 240
i dont knw how u owe 240each?
but if u spend 450 and paid bk 10 each(i.e.20) then it is 470 now plus ur remain 30/- makes it whole get it!
450/2 = 225
225 + 10 = 235
235 * 2 = 470
470 + 30 = 500/- ;)
Why to add 30? instead substract it.
Borrowed 240 each from friend1 and friend2 (after returning 10 each).
total borrowed: 480
Brought the stuff for 450.
Balance = 480-450 = 30.
Look the puzzle in this way
You spent 450 on the product, gave 20 riyals to your friends, you have 30 riyals with you and you owe them 480 which means 450+20+30+480 = 980. Where is that 20 riyals?
