because they was thingking that you are not really Italian citizen so...they serve it not "real" "second rate"...and to think the store wasn't be able to established for decade if all what you are saying is true...they've alot of branches all over the Global world, what can you say about that?
they was thingking also your only second rate copy cut.(sorry)mislead my tongue)
There is nothing "real" Italian about Sbarro. Their food is decidely second rate. their pizzas are all reheated and dried out, their pasta sits in bowls for hours on end and is all claggy, and their sauces have litle by way of flavour.
My credentials: I work for an Italian company. The guys here bring their "REAL" Italian cooking to work to show off!
Very sensual and relaxed atmosphere, best service in Doha (is not easy to find in Doha gentle waiters) and I don't know if still there an Italian duo (man and lady) singing in Italian, France and English languages.
Go to LA VERANDA, at the Sheraton Hotel. In Doha is the best for quality/price. With QR 150 per person you can get appetizers, pasta, nice stek or fish, salad, fruit, cake and wine.
Think it may be Lo Spaghetto as location seems about right, galloper48 has given you the number so just ask if they are near to baskin robins. Sorry haven't got my map with me so can't be more specific at the moment. Getting a taxi can be very hit and miss, best to book if you can but need to do it waaaaay in advance.
But if you are looking for Italian food in Doha. As mentioned above The Italian Job (Ramada) is the best for food and atomosphere. All the other mentioned above are OK.
It sounds like what I am looking for. I am realy bad locating myself around here... is there any more references of this place? Would it be easy to get a taxi after dinner?
Just went to this restaurant on Friday Italien owner and chefs. Great food. Definately compariable to the real thing. We were very impressed. Not a luxurious surrounding but waitresses were good. Not licenced though if this is an issue. Located just off Al Sadd street( C ring road end) near to the Baskin Robbins.

The choices are limited. Either Il Teatro (Four Season) or Italian job (Ramada).
Lo spegatto is nice, but Unlicensed
