do someone know "AL AMAN TRADING & CLEANING SERVICES" i google it but I could not found anything, I found them on the classifieds of QL. They say they can provide us a live out maid, full time (5 days a week, 8 hours a day) for 2400 QL. What do you think about it? It seems correct for me but I'm not use to Qatary salary yet...

I"m to in need of a housemaid/nanny from 1December2008 but going through an agency seems a long process and very expencive.Do i need to go throuht an agency or can i hire local.I will pay QR 2000 and give plane ticket once a year for vacation to home country and every friday day off.30 Days a year vacation paid.Is this fair.

Nowadays the circumstances of the maids are changing and according to the labour office live-in maids are not supposed to work more than twelve hours and in fact often work 17 - 18 hours per day it is also stipulated that they have one day off.

There will be ammendments to the laws of hiring maids as now the Embassies are stepping in and the sponsor/employer has to pay a minumum wage and provide accommodation and food. Live in maids are generally not paid overtime which is unfair if they are working such long hours.

Taking a maid through an agency offers you the satisfaction that if during her trial period of three months you are not happy with her, you can send her back to the agency and request a new maid.
