Hi, I am an expat and my babygirl was born last Nov.5, 2009 here in Qatar and I am still on the process of acquiring for her birth certificate. I would like to know how long is the allowable months for the baby to acquire a visa before I have to pay penalty?........My Embassy told me that it will take 1 month for her passport (MRP - machine readable passport)to be process............do I have enough time?
my husband is in UAE....i hold a valid UAE residence visa under his sponsorship.....now am staying with parents here in Qatar...i hv heard till baby compltes 90 days, he can stay without visa with his mother.....am actually confused on that....
Firstly, congratulations on your new born son and wishing him good health.
As far as I know, any child born in Qatar should have a valid visa within a grace of 2 months and delay after this period will attract Qrs. 10/- day penalty.
Since you are on visit visa, you would need to check with the National Health Authority near Lulu Center opposite HMC, where they issue Birth Certificates.
Normally, it would be your husband who will need to do the running around and make sure you apply for his Birth Certificate to make a Passport for him or else you will not be able to fly out of the country..
Its a lenghty process so let me know if you need some more guidance as your post is very vague and does not mention anything of your husband's visa status.
