story of a pathetic life

Why is it so hard for me every time? I am a 20 years old, I guess I am more mature than most of the kid in my age, actually what I’ve been going through and still I am that made me think about the stuff I should not be thinking of. A 20 years old should have a typical life here in Doha but the way I have been suffering is too much to tolerate. In this point I realize I can’t take it anymore, obviously I hide mytrueself from everyone but now I can’t do it anymore! All I want is to let everyone know what a pathetic life I am living. Perhaps that makes me feel little better.

After I graduated high school from Qatar, I moved to a country for higher education. my parents supposed to finance me, they did for a year though but they were broke by then because the business my dad had was gone somehow, so he told me to come back when I still had 3 more years to study, I did not want to then I had to get a job but the fees and living cost was too expensive to afford, eventually I came back but the horror begins when I arrived in Doha. I saw nothing is like what it used to be, my parents borrowed money from so many people, and these guys come to our house for the money sometimes insult my parents, I can’t say nothing but crying so are my parents, my little brother goes to school, his fees, house rent, bills, food cost etc etc it is like so hard while my dad got no work, my dad and mom has no education so they can’t go for any job. As I said my dad had some business and a saving that saving was gone for my education abroad, I have been trying for jobs but never got one, and I don’t know if there is anyone who would hire a 20 years old high school graduated but university dropped out!

I was a good student, I always have been. I never wanted to end up like this but fate had different plan for me that I never knew. At this point in my life where I stand is that messed up that I can’t think of anything. I used to cry so badly but now I can’t. I want to go back to college this is what all I ever wanted but its way beyond affording. When my mom sometime fights my father because he did not bring food item then he can’t even say that he didn’t have the money to buy. I know she understand but it’s never be the same you know. When the bursar sends a note that they won’t let my brother seat for the exam if we don’t pay the due, my brother yells at my parents because he doesn’t know what is going on. When my mom and dad fight each other, I don’t find anyone else to put the blame but ME. Sometimes it gets so hard that I think of suicide.

You would be surprise school is not even the ultimate solution in life. Most successful people did not even finish school just like you. This means you can do so many better things with your life than going to school.

To be honest, sometimes I wonder why did I even spent so much years just for the sake of school. I thought I would have been more successful if I had follow my fathers business.

Find something doing if going to school is proving difficult.

Thnaks.

Whoever said that life is FAIR is MORONIC.

You're in a situation wherein your parents are UNEMPLOYED, you're brother is in school, you wanted to finish your studies...BUT YOU'RE FAMILY IS BROKE.

WAKE UP! FEELING SORRY and SUICIDAL will not solve the problem...go out and look for a job.

Maybe I could help you...send your cv to [email protected]. Heard they're hiring. :)

Hey mercury_333 your death won't solve any problem but will only increase problems for your folks.

There are many jobs which don't require a college degree, as mentioned above the money won't be great but it is a start and the experience counts.

Suicide is the easy way out taken by cowards.

Comeon you can be better than that.

Dude, would you like to die as a murderer. Dude killing oneself is equal to murder, since the life we have we owe it to the almighty the giver of life. And we dont have the right to take that loving gift of life given to us from the almighty. Things are hard we all know, cuz in this system of things nothing can ever be perfect. Dude there are alot of people who spend money like shit but they may not have what you have.Am sure even u have something more precious that money cant buy. Try to realise that everything you do effects the people around you. Be wise and bold and since ur 20yrs old now there are alot of business oppurtunities in front of you. Make yourself busy in any kind of work u like and start to earn, and once u earn your money, may be its only 500 riyals but with that 500 riyals believe me,be determined and you can even be a millionaire. I swear, never let go of yourself but prove yourself and u'll be the happiest person. I juz wanna wish you the very best for your life now and forever and ever, Takecare. Cheers.

Have you looked at the hotels? An entry level position with one of the hotels would not require a college degree. Admittedly you wouldn't make much money right off the bat, but it may be enough to help your family. Also the hotels offer a lot of management courses and opportunities to move up. I highly suggest you go and speak to some of them.

Don't aggravate the situation of your family.

As you have said, "I was a good student, I always have been". Exert all your efforts to channel the challenges you are facing right now to at least earn a college degree.

mercury333, Do not think of suicide coz that will just be the start of the problems. There are a lot of people who might be having much bigger problems than what you have.patience is what i will ask you to have.Prayers and a calm and sound heart to think properly.Trust me mercury i know, I've been through a lot and that is just life's little trials. You do not stop living coz of the fear of dying one day.Enjoy the life that has been given to you.Life is a blessings, You can sit at QL and post your problems, there might be people who don't have a descent one time meal.Do not be disheartened, do not despair or lose hope. You owe it to your brothers and sisters and to your parents. If you were to take your life in an instance just imagine the 9 months of hardship that your mother had to bear to make you the person you are right now.keep heart and all will be fine.

Please do not even think about suicide.. surely your parents are suffering enough, don't cause them more heartache!Your parents obviously must have a lot of hopes and dreams for you both..don't destroy what may very well be their will to live too. I know how you feel...trust me I do! Know you are not to be blamed here..you are all been trialled and you must always be on "survival and determined to succeed" mode not "cop out fast" mode. Just keep up the job hunt. I actually know of at least one guy below the age of twenty, who got a job here in Qatar despite not having a college education at all. Maybe your first job might not be as great as you'd like it to be but hey you gotta start somewhere. Have faith and be patient..Inshallah you will succeed soon!

I was very saddened to read of your plight and your understandable depression.

Suicide is not the answer though my love – that will cause more pain than the current situation you and your family find themselves in.

As Brit pointed out there may be people who can help you – use this kindness – seeking help is a positive step.

What else can be done?

Have you got a CV?

If yes, then send it to me in PM and I will pass it around as many as many people as I can.

It is difficult to put’ an old head on young shoulders’ –but life sometimes throws us all curve balls and sometimes we come out the other side stronger, happier people. This will happen to you darling.

You have your whole life ahead of you – you have plenty of time to continue your studies in future years. Your life is neither over nor pathetic – see it is as having a hiatus.

I will remember you and your family in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you all the best.

Trust in the God you belive, every bird on earth will not sow seeds to eat,at the same time it wont starve also.

Suicide is ultimately a selfish act, regardless of religious belief. If your parents are miserable now, how miserable would they be if their son committed suicide.

Hey buddy, since you haven't finished college yet, you have something to look forward to in life...like an aim or something. now just focus on getting your family out of this financial fix. How does your dad still stay here, if he has no work? He also doesnt need much education to find a work that can pay enough to buy food for the family, i believe.

and i don't think you should shoulder the situation all by yourself.. you must work out a solution with your dad... or you will end up blaming him for the rest of your life.. for having ruined everything.hope you get what i mean..and dont worry, everything's gonna change.

My friend suicide is not the answer. You may not be able to see it at this moment in time, but you have many fantastic years ahead of you, and when you are much older you will have them to look back upon.

You must be strong!

Time heals everything, and believe me when I say, things will get better. Whatever it is that turns things for you, you are completely unaware of it at the moment. But out of no where something will happen, and the tide of fortune will turn.

Firstly, though you may be down - suicide is not the answer. You have a long life ahead of you and think of your parents - it would destroy them.

Circumstances have put you and your family where you are. You have persevered thus far and i am sure with persistence , you will find a way out and succeed.

I wonder if there are any charitable organizations you could approach. Perhaps our own Speed could look into this and find a solution.
