Sealine beach resort WTF!

Bloubul
By Bloubul

We have been to Sealine beach resort a few times now, and each time I find it very nice. However, today for the first time I was the one paying for stuff, as I normally just tell my wife to order drinks , food etc, and she would pay out of my wallet.

Shocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QR10 for a Pepsi!, QR140 for 2 burgers and 2 chicken Mayo sandwiches.
WTF are they crazy?
I for one agree in charging a fee to enter, and the current QR 100 p/adult and QR50 p/child is not too bad. But the rest is absolutely daylight robbery. The jet ski's rentals are also bloody expensive. For the entrance fee and the robbery rate of drinks and food one would at least expect the place to offer more than what it currently does.
The beach is dirty and needs to be properly developed, there could be more food stalls, or curio shops ( none at present). Slides for the kids, and some entertainment. What about a tennis court or mini golf??

Is there any other place in Qatar where one can spend a day that maybe offers more for the same rate??

It's 250 QR for a day pass to Sharq Village and Spa, and that includes a buffet lunch and non-alcoholic drinks, however and alcoholic drink was 72QR! It's 225 QR for a day pass to Marriott and that also includes a buffet lunch.

Sealine is a cockroach infested hole. I hate it and wish it would burn to the ground.

100 QR entrance fee for adults, it's a total rip-off! they dont have that much to offer anyway so they dont deserve the 100 QR.. we were there last friday, but opted to stay outside the resort, as what most everyone there did.. the beach was packed and inside the resort was well,....empty.. they're worse than the 40 thieves..

i hope they burn in hell LOL...

geez.....a month ago everyone was going to boycott every company in the world with any kind of connection to Israel whether it was real or not but you can't figure out how to have an effect on Sealine and some want the government to step in and clean the beach and set up hotdog stands....ai chihuahua....

Sea Line Beach Resort should at least improve their services cause they have also increase their price as well.

Yap, you don't see much of the Local ladies out there but you can see their men with foreign ladies........

Have fun and enjoy the summer heat.

Get real. The locals have absolutely no interest in developing the beaches. They would never use the facilities. They prefer their private tents in the dunes. Think for a minute--when was the last time you have seen a Qatari woman at the beach? Exactly.

that price is no worth for that uncleaned & maintained beach..!!

did u try Al-Khor beach?? ofcourse its kinda different from the Sea Line Beach Resort!!

The hotel is obviously an ex contractor's compound that they did'nt want to knock down when the (whatever) project was completed. Why anyone would want to go there is beyond me. Show how despertae Doha is for beach areas.

yeah its really sad cause this is the situation with all the resorts here in Doha. Way too expensive. I miss Dubai too for this one and only reason

Perhaps the authorities should look into providing public amenities at the Sealine Beach. The Sealine Resort does not have any competition at the moment; perhaps that's the reason for the exhorbitant prices. There's plenty of space to develope along the beach, I think the public deserves better facilities.

Tcom, I dont like that place for many reason. So we never been to that place for years. Last time I went i think when my son 5 mths old.

As I said before, if you not happy with certain establishment ... either you stop visiting the place or you can keep going there and stop complaining.

If you do complain, it would be more effective if you address it to the manager of the place.

Or if you complain on the public forum, do not expect everybody else to agreeing with you.

and you will just have more fun and better beach :-)

Sure thing is - there's absolutely NO understanding when it comes to tourism and R&R in this country - No problem with entrance fees - my origin is the same as Bloubul's and we know about keeping the undesirables out(LOL). But it is pure greediness that dictates the ridiculous high prices once you're in. Best is to pack your own basket and go and hunt for your own quiet piece of beach

WHAT? They doubled the entrance price from 50 ->100? Shows how often I go to sealine. Anyhow can't agree with you more about the prices. The paucity of nice beaches in this peninsula is suprising. I'm sure there are some nice beaches somewhere, but people keep hush hush to keep it from becoming crowded.

QR140 for 2 burgers and 2 sandwiches sounds reasonable to me. It's a hotel - you're not going to pay shop prices!
