Schools for 4 year old...

I want to get my little boy into a school in September 2011 (he will be 4+ then).

I have looked at DESS and reached out to them, but no luck. I'm not a UK passport holder and wait list is full, so very little chance to get him into this school.

Since we will be living at the Pearl I'd like something as close to us as possible.

I hear International School of London is conveniently located. Any info on this school from people who send their kids there would be welcome.

A few other schools I'd like to know about are:

Compass International (although it seems expensive)
Sherborne Qatar
Newton International School (I hear the Newton British near Villagio is better, but a bit far for us).

Feedback much appreciated.

90% or more Qatari students. Early Years - great staff - minimal resources. Very little money put back into the school. British curriculum. If looking at the school - ask to see their library and resources. They didn't even have enough take home reading books for Reception / Year 1 students last year. So Reception students did not have the option to learn to read even if they were ready. Ask about specialist lessons, they claim to have but really don't provide.. To many students in classes. Look at all these things when looking at Newton.

I read posts a while back that Newton International School was a bit iffy...

Some feedback has been that it's not as international as it sounds, with the composition of students being more Arabic - and hence Arabic studies emphasized more. Is this true?

Excellent School, just 3 minutes drive from the Pearl. Good Luck
