school waiting lists

I am moving to Qatar in September - my kids ( aged  5 and 7) are on all the waiting lists for the major English Schools ( DESS, Doha College, Park House, Compass, Sherborne, Newton etc) . I don't expect to get a place immediately but what sort of timescale is it normal to wait

My advice is to keep in constant contact with the school; things change all the time and the picture only starts to get clearer at the beginning of the next academic year. It's not as hopeless as it may seem now. Good luck !

Be optimistic. and keep contacting the school on a regular basis to check about the status of your kids on the wait list.

there is a great chance your kids won't wait for long. coz what usually happens is most of these schools have alot of expat students. and every year some of them leave the country and a vacancy will be available. so you just have to keep your fingers crossed they'll be next on the list!

Prepare yourself for a long wait - maybe 2 years and in the meantime if you get lucky you will be very happy.

Keep perstering the schools though

Well, tomorrow is the last day of school ...so you better call and see what the situation is.
