Question about FIGURE SKATING in Doha preferably for those who knows beyond doubt

Hello! I'm going to leave Minsk for Doha. And I have some questions about figure skating in Doha. I know that there's a skating center. I'm 20y.o. and I've been doing figure skating for 5 years and I'm not going to give it up, so:

  1. Is it possible to do figure skating in Doha under control of trainer?
  2. Is it possible to have 2 lessons EVERY day or at least 5 times per week (in sum 10-12 lessons per week)?
  3. Is the ice-ground usually crowded(more than 20 persons on ice at one time) or not?
  4. Are trainers enough well-qualified to prepare for taking part in competitions (I meen amateurish competitions)?
  5. Do you have amateurish competitions in Doha?

I'll appreciate if you send your answers at every point to my e-mail [email protected].

Thanks a lot!

Hello,

We are about to move to Doha from the UK. My teenage daughters like to train 4 times a week and take part in amateur competitions. I too am finding it difficult to find out about coaches and if they are of a suitable level.

Just wondered if you had found out any more information?

Diane

Hi Irene,

I know there is one ice rink in City Center Doha and usually it is not crowded. I see only hobbyists there, not serious skaters. Sometimes ice hockey is also being played. It is actually a shopping complex. One trainer is there; but I think he can only help skating beginners.

Don't know about places for figure skating. May be available in big hotels?
