PSD School Bus Services; service or profit?

Dear parents, I was amazed when I enrolled my kids in Philippine School Doha. The Bus Services fee jumped from QR200 to QR400, 100% increase? Are they going to teach inside the bus as well since tuition fees are the same with bus fees? My youngest child is currently enrolled in an Indian Kindergarten School with almost 50% less in terms of tuition and bus fees. I start wondering with this fees, a service or a profit??? just askin?

other nationalities may comment.

400QR monthly service, back and fort is good enough.

my daughter also enrolled at PSD. she has a private service (PSD to Al Saad), which is happened to be a family friend(our neighbor back in the Philippines). before,my husband brought her to school and the service will do it back home,we pay 200QR. but because of traffic, the service do it back and forth for 350QR...

I attend the parents meeting about the school's regulations and charges... they explained why there's increase. So I guess its really up to parents if they want their service or not.

I did register or the bus thingy, but they are not sure they would be able to pick her up as there are only 2 students form abu hamur to be picked up. I will make further inquiry though..thanks

I am also in Abu Hamour area and they (school) suggested to register your kid's name and the area where you want to be pick-up & drop so that they can consolidate their bus routes. Registering is free unless you'll avail the service. So better inquire their office.

If not, then you should so that you can get the answer from them directly as to why they came up with this rate now. I too, had some kids, and 2 were already graduated from high school in this school, and the rate was never our problem (maybe only the recent driver they had which was a not Filipino). I would prefer to pay in this rate per child as the school time in the morning requires them to be picked-up early say around 6am and we had some work also. I don't think you can find this same transport fee if you'll take a private taxi from & to school vice versa.

My daughter is enrolled in PSD, the school bus won't be picking her up as they said it is out of the way. Does anyone know any private transport/driver who would be willing to do so? (pick up and drop- off).

Bus Fees...up to QR 200 per month is fair....

ie QR 10 daily.....anything more than that is robbery.....

.....and in line with Karwa fare which also I consider as robbery!!!

My son school charging over QR 2000 a term for the bus service ...

So I drive him myself to the school ... Maybe you should do the same. Get the alternative transportation.
