Protecting balcony from a toddler
Hi all.
Having a bit of a dilemma and could use your help.
We live on the 3rd floor of a building. We have a large balcony but the guard rail on the balcony has a lot of open areas (part of the design). We also have a 1 year old daughter who is starting to crawl towards the sliding door.
The other challenge, we have 2 cats. We keep the litter box outside on the balcony for them. So, we always keep the sliding door a few inches open so they can go in and out.
I remember in the US, you could get the tall pet doors that lock into a sliding door and the animals can go through the little flap but I cant find anything here.
The second option is to put something along the balcony (like chicken wire or something) but have no idea where to get it and what would be a good option for this.
Would really appreciate any advice (and no, I'm not getting rid of the cats! :) )
Great idea Pennie.... thank you so much.
We bought netting from a garden centre to put along our staircase to prevent our very small Jack Russell puppy from falling through the gaps.Lots of garden centres to the north of the livestock market.
