Hi to all, I just want to ask the procedure for CS delivery at Hamad Medical. Is there a chance you can choose what delivery you want or it will push you to be normal delivery? If you already experience this kindly share your thoughts. Thanks a lot
Hi, I hade my baby last year in Hamad Hospital and it was a pleasent experiance. They do not force you to go for ND as earlier days, infact they were discussing family planning since it is my 2nd baby. Medical staff are very kind and helpfull, for me after the CS they didn't over tax me to BF.
I hope and wish you all the best with your baby.......

I do know that my colleague opted for a CS when she had her baby last year and it was her first baby. No complications, she asked for it. So start with your appointments and check whether they are still very rigid about CS vs ND.
When it comes to experience, Hamad WH is the best. They do not allow men inside the labour rooms, but I have seen men attending the appointments with their wives during the evening clinic, and it was not specifically Qatari men attending the appointment.
Regarding the BF part, and their insistence on it, there is no BM in the first 24+ hours and sometimes more, the insistence on BF is to stimulate the BM production.
I would also like to add that Hamad hospital has an excellant customer care, if you have any issues, you can write to them directly or fill up the feedback form. They respond to your query in less than a week's time, and actions are taken promptly, sometimes the action could be a simple apology, but your concern will be addressed. Many people dont use this service.
Hi. I had my baby boy in May 2010 in Hamad via a CS. I walked 2 weeks past my due date and then went in for a CS as there still was no signs of the baby coming. The staff was very proffessional. The OR was very clean. They talked to me the whole time and I got to see the baby first. Only thing is your husband is not allowed in the OR, but that is okay. I was unhappy about one thing though and that is that they insisted on breastfeeding, and with no milk production that wasn;t possible. So you can go with a good hart to Hamad Hospital.
