options for special needs children

I know that this topic has been discussed, but I am hoping to find some current information. A couple of questions:
Does Shafallah accept non-Qatari students? And does anyone have a working email address for the school?

Is Cedars tutoring centre still around, and does anyone have contact information?

Are there places to find tutors to come into the home during the day to supplement on-line homeschooling (in case it comes to that)?

Any current information is very much appreciated. I had all of my eggs in one basket, so to speak, and my son didn't get into the school, and now I'm in panic mode, as I start a job in August in Education City.

Thanks for your help!

My husband is expecting to accept a job offer teaching in Qatar. I have a couple questions if I could ask for your guidance. One, are Individual Education Plans (from the USA) honored. My son has multiple needs including s/l.

Second, I am a Bachelor's level SLPA in the states. I do have a Msed, but not in speech. Do they hire BS level speech?

Thanks so much for your time.

Hi, Expatq,

I'm conducting a One-on-one Special Intervention (private teaching/home based) to special needs children from different nationalities here in Qatar. I've worked before in Speech Therapy Department, Rumailah Hospital handling English Speaking patients from different nationalities. I'm the first and only Filipino who had worked in the said department.

In case your interested you can contact me on my mobile no. 66841443.

Thanks.

I have a son 6 year old, with, hyperactivity, and language difficulties and associated learning difficulties. He is attending a British school with a shadow teacher. But I am also looking at different options where he can have better academic support. Most schools in Doha claims to have learning support programs and inclusion policy on their website, but after contacting all of them I have realized that they do not accept students even with mild difficulties and discourage from applying. Learning center and shafflha is mostly for Qatari children with serious challenges. I feel that if parents as a group can approach some of these schools with reasonable number of students, they can persuade the schools to accommodate students with disabilities and provide professional help
