Can i please know more about the newton british school(Near beverly hills)just opened last year preferebly from the parents of children who are enrolled at this school.
Im about to move to Qatar in September to teach at NBS and really excited! I cant wait to experience a new culture, bring my teaching experiences over and meet lots of new people. If anyone has any advice or just general information, I would be very grateful! :)
I have two children at NBS, I'm sorry to say, I'm not that impressed with the school. I must say this is not an attack on the teachers, more at the way the schools is run. For example. a few months ago, we had a little rain, they closed the school for a week, the kids went back to school for a week two weeks, then they broke for end of term. They don't seem to really care about the childrens best interests.
I could be wrong, I don't know, many of they parents I have spoken too there, agree. and have since been lucky enough to get a place at the likes of doha college/DESS/Park house.
It looks like NBS is a quick fix untill something better comes along.
My children have also become more aggressive and rude, something I am most certainly not happy with. Maybe its the school or maybe its me being an old git, again I don't know. I do know they were Never like that in the UK.
As you point out, this is a new school (the third branch of the Newton International School), and it is located in al Wa'ab. It follows the British Curriculum, with Arabic class once a week (if the parents so wish).
I have 2 children attending NBS, and so far, I have been very pleased with the school. The kids work hard, but in a way that is reasonable and fun. My kids actually look forward to going to school every day, which is a good sign. I know the teachers work very hard and give detailed assessments of students' work. So far, every interaction I've had with the school staff has been positive. The school environment is very friendly, and the staff are responsive to comments. The administration has also been trying to upgrade the infrastructure of the schoo. Classrooms are very cheerful and student-friendly.
There have been some staff changes recently, but from what I can tell, they try to bring in teachers qualified to teach the British Curriculum. I have had one such experience with my daughter's class, but it worked out very well.
I too am curious to know how the other parents feel about the school. I try to give constructive feedback whenever I feel I have something to say, because the school is so new. I hope that the school continues to do well and to care about students in the way they do now.

Is NBS more expensive than the other two branches of the Newton Empire? Or are the fees about the same?

I have also enrolled my child there and i will compare this with DESS with some plus minus
Thanks you very much for your valuable feedback..
