New here and need your knowledge. My hubby is looking at moving our family to qatar, nothing concrete yet but we just checking out all our options. Is qatar still expensive to live in, as in housing. and are thier good schools for kids, coming from scotland we would prob put them in the british international ones. Heard alot of negative stuff on other web sites about qatar so can anyone here give me the positive. any advice welcome thanks.

Qatar is expensive and getting worse. However, its a great place to bring up kids. You get a lot of time with them.

The weather is great - much better than Aberdeen. No wild haggis running around, but we do have the odd camel.

Traffic congestion is a problem, but you get used to it.

The main problem yo will face is ensuring acceptance in a good school.

Go for it!

nothings wrong with Qatar ... just make sure your husband getting the normal expat perks then your family are set to live here.

Dont accept housing allowance or school allowance, ask for the house and the school to be paid fully. The rest are usual like medical and flight home annually.

is nothing wrong with Qatar, we raised two kids there and thoroughly enjoyed the time.

Will leave it to others still resident to respond on current living costs, schooling etc.
