Nanny/Maid should not have the same nationality as the employer?

Hi guys!

I was just wondering about the logic behind a nanny/maid not having the same nationality as the employer. Is there any truth on this or this is just plain hearsay? or this is just limited to Filipinos hiring Filipinos?

We are planning to hire one since both my husband & I will be working full time and there's no one to left to be with my kids. This is going to be a problem.
