Maternity care
Hi all,
I have just found out I'm pregnant and I am new to qatar. While there are many forums already they are quite old and I just needed a few things clarified with mternity care as the structure here is different to UK. I will be having my baby here.
My last baby was normal delivery no complications so I am hoping for the same this time. I don't want epidural or continuous monitoring and would like to he mobile.
Hamad is out as you cannot have your husband. I have insurance that should cover antepartum and delivery as I get a new card in January and I'm not due until February so I'll technically have a new budget.
So I am thinking either The Cuban (but it's quite far), Al Alhi or Doha Clinic as Sidra not taking insurance. Questions...
Can my husband attend appointments and delivery in all of the above mentioned hospitals?
Any recommendations of doctors?
Have people attended these and found them open to birth plan?
What gestation do you start attending the hospital here?
In the mean time do I just attend west bay Hamad clinic for care?
Any recommendations of private local clinics for early antepartum care?
Thanks for accepting your mistake, my pal, be happy .........
Molten: You have the most time available to post a comment on everything that gets posted on QL whether they make sense or not and many of them are downright STUPID. But you must comment and be the FIRST one to do so as you wish to see your name appear on the QL page at each post. And you go about telling me I have time? Ha! Ha!

Accha, All your essay is confusing us a lot, please be breif my pal, any way , thanks for the time on your hand.
Suggest, you visit these hospitals and have a meeting with a doctor to get first hand information on your queries rather than depend on views of people at QL.
As for antepartum care, there are several private clinics in Doha which have qualified doctors on their panel. Naseem Al Rabeah Medical Centre located on C Ring road opposite Gulf Times is one of them. Aster Hospital is another. Doctors at Naseem Al Rabeah and at Aster could also answer all your queries. I guess Aster Hospital also has maternity facilities and accepts insurance. You could check up on that by calling them .
All the best!
Lolu, Congrats from my side ....... No need to worry at this moment, have healthy diet ..........
