MARRIAGE WITH A QATARIAN LADY
By smilingmoon •
I m a muslim from TURKEY. CAN I MARRY with a Qatarian LAdy. Is it legal ?
I know ladies are respected in this country. Look at the traffic signals for pedesterian cross..What about their consent then? If they really want to marry.. would they be hanged? sorry for my language..
regards
I think all of you confused smilingmoon, and no one explained it.
First of all, it is allowed for you to marry a Qatari girl, and maybe it is easier if a Qatari guy is planning to marry a non-qatari girl.
Do you believe it, I think you don't, and the reason is because if you are a nonqatari, and you want to marry a qatari one, you have to take the approval from her parents before the official permission, which is more diffecult. I think it is smart....If you are a qatari guy, you don't need your familly permission, yeah it better if you can get it, but you can marry without it, and thats you cannot get the official permission easly.
However, maybe I can understand this strickted law, we know the local comunity is still a small comunity, so it is better to be undercontrol, whih I can understand.
About the high maintenance girls, I agree with honestpedal, this high maintenance girl can be found in any community, and if she was born with drivers and nannies, servants around her, why do we have to blame her, if I am in her shose, maybe I will prefer to live in the same inviroment.
We have to open-minded to discuss such issues, otherwise, it will be wating time.
Dear Honestpedal.

SubhanAllah, you are a role model indeed, not only of Arab women, but for all the modern age women who prefer easy-living-aids & maids.
May Allah bless you and your family. Ameen.

I agree with Nick no wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy you can compare any architecture with even a small house in Turkey. There is really no comparison with Turkey or any part of the arab world. There is almost nothing to do in arab countries maybe egypt but not hijaz. My only respect are for Makkah and Medina but other then that its all desert and weather sucks very very much, u cant even have a normal life outside only life is inside AC and i have found Turks to be extreamly extreamly welcoming and loving people then any of the qatari I have seen in qatar. Its a shame, no offense to anyone, but facts are facts.
High manintenance or not the fact is if u love each other then think about it otherwise dont bother yourself with such thing!
ALL GIRLS are high maintenance. Its all about how you were brought up and family status. This is the same in the US, in UK, in Africa - basically any place all over the world. People have standards and they aren't going to change them for a man to be in their life - UNLESS they wanted to.
I am a Qatari and I have been brought up in a house filled with servants. From maids, drivers, chefs .... butlers as well. My mom NEVER depended on the servants for taking care of us children - and yes we are more than 5. She did have them assist her and help her, but she played the leading role.
I'm married now and NO I did not ask for my own house, a maid, a driver, or anything else. I am happy the way things are. We in Qatar are not like the foreign countries where we have day care centers to take our children to while we are out earning a living. We do although have families and parents to help bring our children up. Also, in the Foreign countries, the husbands play a big role in the household. They help their wives clean up, wash clothes, clean diapers - anything needed. But here in Qatar - or lets generalize and say in any Arab country, the man does NOTHING but give orders as if they are married to a housekeeper, or a maid.
That is where things go wrong. It is a win/loose situation. It all about luck.
I will clean my house, make my own bed, wash my clothes and take care of my babies on my own - but I will in the future hire a nanny for my children - or a maid for my house. NO ONE can manage everything at the same time.
We women are multi taskers, but we are human beings as well.
Do you understand why we are labeled as 'high maintenance'?
After all that, the husband needs the most attention LOL - and those are hard to please :P
I am sure you have never been in Turkiye and do not know so much about Turkiye. Believe me comparing Turkiye Qatar is very boring country. I am coming from Antalya where you can swim in nice beaches with many nice clubs where the green forest starts at the end of beaches. And there are historical remains of old cities in those forests. And in Antalya you can swim and the day after you can climb to a mountain called saklikent (hidden city) make make skiing there. And as a scuba diver it has much richer under water life.
But Gulf area countries are also very lucky because you have oil. And we do not have so we both shall thank god for the things that he gave us.
For Ottoman Empire in the end it was in the past but you shall read a little bit history. Maybe Ottoman Empire was the only big empire that didn't rule countries with so much violence as much as the other empires were ruling in those old times. Think about what happened to indians, the natives of north America? How many of them were killed? What happened to the natives of Australia? How many aborigines left and living with their own culture as you can do now as the people of Arab countries? What happened to the whole nations of Inca and Aztec Empires? Do you have any idea how many people were killed in 16th century in Central America? Let me tell you 10 thousands of them were killed in violence. What happened in North/South African countries for their resources(and still in our time what is going on for diamond, oil and such resources in African countries, in Iraq, etc...) Do you have any idea how many people died in WW II for more earth, money, power; which we did not take place as Turks? Around 2 million or more? Most of the countries and nations have some stories like that. We shall not hate Germany because what Hitler and 1940s Germany caused. Or the other countries/nations I have mentioned above, for the things they have done in the past. Before blaming; you shall think and use your brain a little bit more ;)

What you said about the best thing to do in Qatar is very very wrong. You can appreciate the architecture of Qatari Mosques, you can appreciate the architecture in Souq Waqif and have a great shopping experience, you can go to the modern malls, you can also go to the desert, or the museum. And Wakrah has different architecture. You can learn about and buy something I really love called Sadu, which is a beautiful Bedouin Weaving that is usually red. There is so much rich culture in Qatar from the music to the sword dances! There is much more to do in Qatar, too.
By the way,I really dislike Turkey for historical reasons, including my rejection of the Ottoman Empire.
Well everything is not money. It will be like selling your soul if you make a marriage for money and power. From my side I wouldn't marry a girl whose family is much richer and powerful than mine -since she will accept to live depending on ourselves- I mean even only one time if she will say oh I was in much better situation with my family or you are in this position by my help, everything would end for me. So why would you want to marry a Qatari lady and live here? In the end Turkey is much more beautiful than any Arabic country. (Do not take it offensive but the best thing you can do here is going sand dunes for off-road or Quad riding for some adrenalin). I've been in Egypt too and gone so far till Abu Simbel near Sudan. Maybe I love Turkey because it is my country but comparing middle east Turkey has much better atmosphere to live. Even under water is like desert here while you can make snorkeling between historical remaining of tombs under the shade of green forests in Turkey. Besides people explained above if you do not want to live in Qatar it is just matter of getting approval from her family. I think this subject shall be closed :) Because if you are not willing to live here with her there will not so much problems for you.
Everyman dies; but not every men really lives.
I would love to marry a Qatari girl. You just have to make sure you marry the right one because many Qatari girls are "high maintenance" but others are not. If I marry a Qatari girl, we can bring more Arab children with Qatari blood into the world and go against the Western influence and try to preserve Arab culture together!
kunjarqatari.. it is really difficult to understand you :))..
lipstck is just BSing :-) its next to impossible to me i never ever ever heard that either it worked out or even it came next to impossble .......
lipstick.. are you a lawyer ? yes .. are you qatarian ? yes.. :)
how do you know the answer then?
CAN I MARRY with a Qatarian LAdy? yes
Is it legal? yes
chaud
yes they are same in front of ALLAH and even though we pray we are same for only 1 mins after that its the color of your skin or your passport after we go out of the mosque.
also what are you talking about locals here dont even pray at the same place also i went to a mosque near a friends place in ramadhan for taravih when the an arab guy probably owner or something i dont know he has to sit in the place behind the imam so if someone is sitting there he is normally shifted from there to another line heheh what a joke isnt it....shiiitt
smilling moon if you are a girl or boy it seems you have a good heart i just want to say multi cultural marriages are hard it self but if PRIDE is also in the marriage then you will have complications. You never know if your rights are not save in qatar and 110% true that you as a turk dont have any right then dont get into this especially you yourself are a girl. I love turkish people they are like my own nation so my sincere advise dont get into this qatari mess.
kunjanqatari.. I thought again. I think you are right..
I just wanna say that: everybody is same in front of Allah. We go to mosq and put our foreheads on the floor together with all nationalaties. we are all same. human being..
best regards
O' MD, I am just busting your hoden....
But really dude, your spirit has changed in the past months...
You don't have to share why but know that a lot of people have picked up on it...

people who are saying qatar is a muslim country and you just parents approval and qatari women are not high maint etc what a JOKEEEEEEE!
Brother really dont waste your time with a qatari you will be very sorry. what type of shit law is this that even you get married you wont have rights like a qatari. i saw dont let your self respect get come in your way if you want to live like a d...g after marriage then please do ...
but i like one post if u really love this girl then go live in turkey or something or get an american or brit passport then probably you will have more rights then a qatari itself..
think before you leap into this, first of all it will be different culture and secondly when you will be treated like a second grade citizen then all the complications will come and then again as one of the person here said these girls are really high maint. every house hold has maids and they dont even respect their maids..etc etc so i dont know why a qatari. There are lot of beautiful women in turkey or other countries who would live and die for you not sure about the choice at hand..
may ALLAH help you!
Nah, my friend. I used an Asian beauty as my first avatar to show that I am not a racist. However, I was mistaken as a female which was painful, as you might understand, then I changed to my real photo. Now there is no more room for speculations.
I noticed MD changed once he changed his avatar... coincidence???

Ask for her parents approval.
Get Married in Europe.
Live in Turkey
Only time will prove it, if its true love. Who knows, in a few years we have better attitudes and laws.
Have faith. It keeps your hopes alive.

Honest, can you say honestly that when you get married, have a few kids you will continue to maintain your household, drive your kids to school and do all the cooking and cleaning yourself? No maid, no driver, no nanny? And can you honestly say that you havent grown up with any of these? This is the idea.
I admit there are exceptions to every rule, and you may indeed be it :)
"Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock - Will Rogers"
That is not true at all. I'm a Qatari girl and I did not ask for a maid, cook, or anything else. All we want is a good man that would be honest, loving and loyal. This is all nonsense walla.
my bad
Abu is right about the high maintenance, Qatari ladies grow up with maids, drivers, nannies and such and it is expected to keep her in the lifestyle in which she is accustom. I didnt read anything in Abu's post about not marrying for love....
"Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock - Will Rogers"
Good joke, tallg.
MD - there's definitely been a shift towards the more cynical and depressing in your posts of recent. I've noticed it too!
Maybe you lost your sense of humor, abu?
what do we have here???
"I love the advice here its so factual and full of information." So, who is cynical, abu?
Looks like your talking about a business, abu. Never heard of people marrying for love?
dear,
there is no rule here in qatar to marry with qatari peoples. Don't think about it
Regds.
I have born here.. and this is the first time listening to these rules stated by these members !
all of u need is her family approval..
I DONT KNOW WHERE DO THESE PEOPLE GET SUCH INFORMATION !!!
QATAR IS A MUSLIM COUNTRY..guys
Dont listen to their nonsense. If you want to marry a Qatari girl, you will first of all need her families approval. After that - you may apply for an approval from higher authorities. The husband isn't, under any circumstance, going to get the Qatari passport if this is accepted and approved. The children will hold the father nationality - and they will not benefit any of the privileges that locals have.
Good luck and let me know if you need more information.
Thanks Walk for putting the right answer
As I said dont even think about it. You have no right I think to marry a qatari actually if you are muslim and girl is muslim then no law in the world should stop you from marrying if done in proper way but sorry brother this is not the place.
god help you!
Thaks a lot for information.
please understand that expats have to ask questions to get to know.
