Life Insurance Claims in Qatar

We just wonder how does life insurance works in Qatar. The other day, one of our friend's husband dropped dead due to heart attack. We feel very sorry for him and wonder how his wife and children will cope financially. The wife was told that her husband has life insurance provided by his company and by their bank, but she has no idea what and how to proceed. Can someone shed some experiences/hints on this issue?
Considering Qatar is a man-controlled society, I wonder:
How long does it take?
How difficult is it?
What success rate will she get for her settlement?
Does she need to remain in Qatar? for how long?
It is also a wake up call to our expat community here in Doha in the event this might happen to anyone of us.

Thank you for your valuable info. I will pass the info to her. It would be great if you can shed some further details. For the life of her, she has never seen the life insurance policy nor insurance card provided by either her husband's company nor GLPA. Is there a problem with that?
While waiting for the claim to settle, perhaps it could take a few months, can she leave the country to go home for good or she needs to be in Qatar?
If her husband has outstanding loans, how does that affect her claim settlement?
Last but not least, she has access to the Doha banks online, but not authorized to make any transaction in person such as withdrawals/transfers/closing since it is under her husband's name. What does she need to do?
Thanks
A wonderful input, Thanks.
Your friend's employer seems to indicate that he was covered under GLPA-Group Life and Personal Accident Insurance - This policy covers Accidental Death; Dismemberment – loss of limbs, loss of eyesight, loss of hearing, etc.; Permanent Total Disability; Permanent Partial Disability; Accident Medical Expenses Reimbursement etc
Insurance Companies here are usually empathetic and provide a speedy hassle free claim in such cases. The employer of your friend's husband is required to register a claim with the relevant Insurance Company with your friend nominated as his beneficiary.
All other concerns like how long it may take - depends on various factors like the availability of the required documents when filing the claim and the procedure followed by the Insurance company.
You can rely on this info because I work for an Insurance Company. However, GLPA is a general practice and expats are usually aware of it.
Which is why we have our own life insurance cover over and above the Company provided Group Life and PA policy. It serves as an investment as well for obtaining tax benefits.
Ideally the Company would liase on behalf of the employee's next of kin to handle the claim. Depending on the policy (multiples of annual salary or fixed sum), the next of kin would receive the same in their designated account.
