I am pregnant for 6 to 7 weeks now & it's my first pregnancy. I need to go back home as my visa is finished. Is it alright to travel? Please advise.

Thumb Rule: Travelling or any sort of exertion in 1st and last trimister (1st trimister: 1st week to 12th week and last trimister 28th week till 40th week) of pregnancy should be avoided. Better Do Not TAKE CHANCE.

Hi, Actually its better not to travel in the First and last trimister. Avoid travelling during first 1st to 12th week of pregnancy as this is the most crucial stage of development. If there is any bad obstetric history (like initial mis-carriages) then it should be definately avoided.

If everything is normal and certified by your qualified Obstetrician & Gynaecologist THEN ONLY you should travel. But ONLY IF IT IS MOST URGENT WITH CAUTION. During the first trimister you should even avoid climbing stairs.

For more information please consult a good obs - Gyne

6-7 weeks no issue at all!! Unless of course there is a medical condition not allowing you to take the plane (talk to your doctor)

Restrictions apply to pregnancy over 28 weeks, but that also depends on airliners rules and policies.

Better check with your doctor and of course wih the airliner

Regards!!
