hi everyone,

just wanted some feedback from families in qatar about Hyatt Plaza shopping mall... do you realy consider it as a family mall? what can the mall do to be considered as the shopping destination for families? any brands you would love to see in the mall? any ideas or feedback will be realy appreciated by me! after all its the customers view that realy matters!

Have a great weekend :)

I like Hyatt plaza. It's close to my home, has a big food corner, A big super Market and if you like this: an indoor play area for children. So it's defenitely a family mall. In Qatar there're only 2 brands I'm missing: Ikea and Hema. Hema would definetely do well in Qatar. It's famous in Belgium and holland. www.hema.be

But ofcourse I don't kno if it's possible to bring them to Qatar :-).

Ever thougt of putting some recycle bins in a corner of the parking area. Lots of Europeans hate the recycling system in Qatar. Since you just have to put everything in one bin or drive to the Zoo or any of the parcs to recycle. If you just put a container for glasses, plastic and paper, I'm sure a lot of people would use and appreciate it.

Add a baby change/breastfeeding room. I don't understand the bathrooms here expect you to change the baby's nappy on a hard tiled table, that is usually dirty or wet. And put in a nice chair for us to sit and breastfeed the babies. Otherwise i will continue to breastfeed my son out in the open and i dare anyone stupid enough to say something if proper facilities are not provided.

nobody said other malls arent family friendly, Suzan..my point is that there are more kids shops and they put together a lot of shows for kids at Hyatt plaza..

Im wondering why people are so mad on QL?

Family mall? what the heck does that mean when someone says that. Its not like there are malls that show bad things to KIDS. ALL malls in Qatar are kids friendly malls.

So yea, other than being boring, Hyatt plaza is good and has stores other malls dont have.

I disagree with most of the comments.. As a mother, its a great place to take the kids..especially since its hardly ever crowded :-) I would just suggest more stores and facilities that would appeal to families. And please do something about the parking!! its almost as confusing as the souq waqif one.lol

I moved to Doha about a month ago and my wife and daughter will be joining me in January. The one UK store they are really going to miss is PRIMARK. http://www.primark.co.uk/

If this was in Hyatt Plaza it would be great. But only if it had the same sort of prices as UK stores, Marks and Spencers clothes are double the price they charge in UK.

cheers

only been 1 time to hyatt, and it is not as exiting as villagio or city centre. u just have to make smeting special there, like new shops with new brands which not available in qatar... ex: victoria secret, levi's jeans, more hobbie shops n electronics or try to bring in dept store like debenhams, marks and spencer , bhs , etc.

also what u can try, a play ground for children which parents can leave them under d management supervision, so mom and daddy can shop peacefully..... lol... :)

not a day care... i forget d name, but in jakarta (indonesia) they have something like this. they play n pretend what they wanna do when they are growing up.

will be superb n diferent from other malls... n hopefully bringging more people to hyatt....

ps: i'm a newbie just over a months here, so dont know too much about other malls except what i mention above, if what i mention already been here, my apology.. ^_^

Like everyone else said, you could have more stores and introduce new brands to Qatar, sick and tired of seeing the same franchises being repeated in every mall over and over. To attract families, it would help if you set aside a family day and maybe bring a restaurant like Chuck e cheese or something like that. Or an ESPN sport zone? Just a suggestion.

Nana - Ragging is an illegal act and I haven't done anything illegal in life so far. I'am looking at marrying a suitable girl who is into retail business soon. I'am yet to find the girl though :)

My comment was an effort to answer a seemingly obvious question on a Thrusday night. I meant no harm or offence.

Btw I love to answer to 'hers' as compared to the 'its' and 'hims'.

:) Take it easy babe.

Fried unicorn - if this topic doesnt interest u then i advice u not to comment. and grow up for heavens sake this isn't college to rag someone. i just needed an opinion from decent people to serve you all better and just for your kind information im a her not a him :).

As for the rest who have put the effort to actually answer the question, i realy appreciate it! dont ask us to move the location, we're looking to improve not relocate.

Britexpat: i shall look into those brands and see how we could try to bring them here. :)

Samcro: jungle zone is actualy under renovation now.anyhow, i will inform the management to do something about the lighting.

Thanks to all!

Thank you in advance

I like Hyatt and I feel comfortable taking my family there. The variety of ice cream options is popular with my children, and we regularly shop at the ELC and Mothercare, so it is handy to have both so close together. The size is manageable.

My only complaint is that the park system can be confusing, especially in the dark. I have figured it out from experiencing it, but newcomers seem to struggle the first couple of time around.

You need to look at the portion allocated for shops. Number of shops need to be increased since there is nothing much to be offered from mall.

It can become a Family mall only if the variety of shopping is there with Promotions...

thank you all for your feedback. shapil could you please elaborate on what you said.

MZ.000 it is definitely a small mall, and villagio definitely has more brands... but as a family shopping mall is there any sort ofentertainment or event you would love to see more often in hyatt plaza? is there any specific brand you would want in a mall which is not already in qatar? help us make hyatt plaza a mall that meets your needs! :)
