Hum .......Family issue

You love each other (man and woman) and planning to get married, but the family of your love disapproves your course of action….

Have you ever experienced something like this?
If you were in this position, what would you do?

Well in my case the girl wasn't so stubborn and married a guy of her parents' choice.... Worked out well for me though, I am happy I didn't get married at that time, I was just 22...

I know one couple. They love each other from the school time. They both are muslims, but belong to kind of bit different confessions or so... Now they are waiting for...12 years (!!)for the girl's father approval of their marriage.. How many times the guy tried to convince the father!! And father doesn't look to give up their positions any soon..The girl said, she will either marry the man she loves, or not going to marry at all.. even THIS didn't convince her father.. does he hate his daughter that much?? doesn't he want her to be happy?? ridiculous!!

At first, this may look like a simple matter but it's actually quite complicated. Although I'm far from getting married, I do have worries with my love life because of the same reason. It would be selfish getting married just because you like each other without caring how the others feel. I think I wouldn't be truly happy without everybody's blessings. But I guess in the end, it's our choice and only time can solve it all.

This indeed does actually happen in a lot of cultures and communities and they have their own valid reasons for doing so.Yes,different religious beliefs is a major reason for many families to not involve themselves with the other family.
