Anyone homeschooling in Doha? We are moving in 6 weeks with our two boys ages 5 months and 4 years old. We will be homeschooling the oldest.

Then I know a number of UAE outlaws who homeschool. The biggest issue is when children hit the higher levels where labs etc. are needed to complete the home countries' curriculum successfully.

Be prepared to step back in time 20 (or more) years. Home schooling is not a concept some other nationalities understand in the least. Especially in this part of the world. In the UAE its even illegal.

Seriously??? Are you kidding. Yes the contract does cover school but at this point we feel our sons needs are better met at home. I am a teacher with a masters degree in education. Teaching my son at home will not destroy him.

If your contract doesn't cover the American School, don't come.

You'll be destroying your children.

Myself, being a mom of three find the mixture of various Nationalities available in the schools here as an excellent form of social education for a child. It might be worth while to check out the various International schools here before you decide to home school.
