In case you have super-cheap calling rates to the U.S.. . .I have Vonage with a Houston, TX number so for the price of a phone call to Houston you can pick my brain if you'd like. Just be sure to check the time zone difference :o)

PM me if you'd like the number

Once you are on the ground you will definitely want to get involved with Doha Expat Mums and Kids (DEMK). Some of our events are posted on the QL Events site. You can check them all out on our website at http://www.dohaexpatmumsandkids.com

The Contact page (on the DEMK site) goes directly to me, so feel free to hit me with any questions :o)

Also check out Novita's group http://www.qatarliving.com/group/mums-in-doha We are friends, so there's no competition between our two groups.

Novita77 and Expat Sueno are the go-to girls on this one. Also check out the expatwomanqatar.com website for good info.

I am moving to Doha this month with a 3 year old and 6month old. So were in the same boat. Let me know if you find out anything good, and I will do the same for you!

I am sure we will meet up in Doha one day.

We have been here for about seven months and my children were 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 yrs. old when we arrived. Know that it will be very hot so be prepared for that. I would also bring any medication that you are used to giving to your children bc you may not find the exact ones here. Also if you are planning to put your children in school/nursery, look into it now bc the good ones have waiting lists. The mom group here should also be very good to get involved with. Good luck!
