Having a baby while under father's sponsorship

My friend's daughter has a valid RP under her father's sponsorship. She got married early this year and her husband works in India (no Qatari RP). Can she deliver her baby here in Doha ? If yes, what are the papers she needs ?

Thanx for your answers. Her parents are desperate to have her with them for this first delivery.

Is it possible for a woman under father sponsorship to give birth in Qatar, without issues or problem...... especially when the husband is in Qatar.

Hi Zulfia,

Was your friends daughter able to deliver in Qatar?

Oh yeah, don't know how long she has been out of Qatar in India, but doesn't the RP get cancelled if she is out for 6 months or more ?

Also just a thought here, I thought a father could only sponsor an unmarried daughter. If they take the marriage certificate along, will that infact make her fathers sponsorship invalid and result in her RP being cancelled. And if they find this out after she arrives, would she not be deported, not a pleasent thought when pregnant I should think.

Once married, she is her husbands responsibility (unless under her own Work Visa) fathers sponsorship is not allowed.

seeing as she shouldn't fly for like the last 7/8 weeks of the pregnancy and then till the babies 3 months old, would it be better for her stay there, have the baby there (no chance of Qatari Passport anyway), and have the parents go and visit her when due or when born.

As the father doesn't have Qatar RP, may be dificult for them to get an RP for the child here and they would have to sort the passport and everything out before she could leave.

@wakawakawoo - She is living in India with her husband but would like to be with her mother leading upto the delivery. Perhaps her husband will be here too on a visit.

@maxmo - Thanx for the info.

As I understand, she will need a marriage certificate as a proof of being married and the passport consisting the spouse name matching with marriage certifcate.

Ask her to carry these documents while registering at Hamad Women's Hospital.

Shouldn't she be living with her husband in India ?

Shouldn't she be with her Husband for the birth of their first child ?

How selfish of the parents wanting her with them.
