The thing people should know about schools in Qatar - it all depends on what you are looking for regardless of space.

When an English meduim schol caters to arabic speaking children and you are non-arabic, and you put your children in this school..don't complain about the standard of education you get and start bashing the school. Regardless of where the teachers come from, you do have to teach to the level of students you have.

I know the school well. It is well established and is very over subscribed. The school offers the National Curriculum of England and Wales and also 90 minutes each day of Quran and Arabic Studies. The school has a new Management in place and I know that the standards are improving all the time. Well worth a look

This school has many native english speaking teachers.

The cirriculum is taught in English. I know a few families that have their children there, Qatari and expats. They all seem to be quite happy. There are always going to be people that have negative things to say about every school. School places are limited and hard to come by, i would suggest that you go and see for yourself.

The website gives a good impression of the school. The most important thing is to get your child into a school. Compared to many of the new uber expensive schools that are opening up i wouldnt say that Gulf English school is particulary expensive.

Good luck for tomorrow!

What about kids other than arabic speaking?

Does the school has native English Speaking Teachers?

Does the medium of teaching & communication with child is english?

You said the school is expensive. Can you please quote the figures?

Please let me know as soon as possible as they have asked me to come tomorrow regarding my son's admission.

GES is a very good school for arabic speaking kids to study in English Medium. There is no doubt about good teaching staffs and facilities. My only concern is the administration is not so well organised but that doesn't affect the students. I recommend this school for the arabic speaking kids.

Last Friday and is trying to call different schools. They don't even have a waiting list. Do you have any idea about the Gulf English school if they have opening. We have twins who are in K.G. now in the U.S.

Thanks

The fees are quite \expensive, and the place is too far for people residing from Doha.

I teach at Gulf English school and is has a large range of excellent teachers from UK, Australia and New Zealand. It follows the british curriculum, and there is a choice of IB or A level after year 11 IGCSE examinations. The school is seperated into three sections, infant, primary and secondary. Secondary is gender seperated. There are some amazing people at Gulf English school and the students are warm with a good sence of humour, It is mainly arab students (about 90 percent)and students are taught islamic and islamic studies. There are specialist teachers for french, music, ICT, PE from primary to secondary. Like any school we have our issues but that is human nature. Chuck me an email if you are further interested and I can give you an email address of someone at school to contact. Good luck and welcome to doha

Hi, I've just taken up a job offer in Doha. Am thinking about bringing over my wife and 10-year old son from Malaysia for enrollment in an International school here. So, I would also like to know more about this school. eg which curriculum they follow, tuition fees, wherebouts in Doha is it located?, etc. I tried going into the website suggested by Randary but was unsuccessful. Anyone can elighten me more about this school? Thanks.

It seems no one knows about the school on this board. Why dont you drop the same question on the forum in expatwoman.com in Qatar section? Most posters there are ladies so fingercross someone can answer you.
