K-net is not an educational website, but rather a portal which means it offers more services than just a website.

The "K-net" Project falls under ictQATAR's "e-education" initative, so the name you provided is correct.

Let us tell you more about this project. K-Net stands for Knowledge Network. It is a pilot project designed in partnership with the Supreme Education Council to boost and support student achievement through ICT, while also acknowledging the role that parents and teachers play in a student's success.

School Knowledge Net has been implemented in 12 independent schools to provide a portal for sharing education applications and student data. It also allows for three-way communication between students, teachers, and parents.

Students can submits assignments and participate in self-assessment exams, as well as communicate online after school hours through chats and discussion boards.

Parents can view school and homework assignments, grades, and study guides. Parents will also communicate with teachers through Instant Messages, email, and discussion boards.

Teachers can post surveys, evaluations and polls for students and parents and assess responses. The portal will also allow teachers to find out contact details for students, colleagues and parents.
