Clare (29) and Aaron (10 mths): New to Qatar.....help!!!!!

Hi all,

Ive just moved to Qatar (1 week ago) with my husband Brian and baby boy (Aaron). So far we love it, very different to Manchester and in lots of good ways (apart from driving, Im a bit nervous about driving over here having passed my test 1 month ago!!!!) Anyway, I have a couple of questions for you all and would appreciate any help/advice!

1) Babies! Brian starts work tomorrow so me and Aaron are on our own! I dont have him signed up to a creche yet, want to get him in starfish lane but their waiting list is HUGE! So, Im looking for baby soft play areas, good places for babies, mums groups (etc). Want him to get interaction with other babies and not get too used to my company all the time as he's starting to get a bit clingy already!  Its a bit of a long shot but we are hoping to get an apartment in ezdan (the massive towers...although theyre all massive arent they!), I dont suppose there are any mums living there already who fancy meeting up?!!

2) This next one is a totally different question! Im interested in doing a TEFL/CELTA course and getting a job teaching english. Has anyone already done this? Any advice on courses, schools (etc)?????

Thanks a mil guys in advance. Its all very exciting and Im looking forward to living here.

playing in the parks here will be fun.... less heroin users than Manchester.

also sharia law here so there is less shoplifting too or spot the people with one hand! ;)

there is a great park area near Aspire ...... lots of families go there.

In answer to 'C' call the British Council... you can do it thru them... excellent idea

PS if you do miss the smack 'eads on the metrolink may i suggest flying to Tehran and going to a park there?

Regarding the baby question, check with the mums site on QL. As to the course you want to do. I recommend you contact the British Council They do have thesekind of courses you are asking about. Good luck
