Blackberry vs IPhone from USA

Hello All,
I am currently holidaying in America, and i would like to get a phone from here since they are much cheaper here, but can not decide between blackberry and Iphone.
my question is which is better? apart from phone calls all i need to use it for is facebooking and skpe. and would welcome any suggestion or advice.
someone at the shop said is not posible to use the internet on an unlocked blackberry phone, is this true? also can i use iphone with Qtel?

You go for iphone because you can not use internet with blackbery .Blackbery use its own service

I,ll Preffer Iphone... Its Good for using facebook or skype, specially if u use vodafone sim u,ll enjoy this fone more...
both phones are good to use for internet(facebook, skype)
but in qatar Blackberry phones has extraordinary option, which is -you just have to pay almost 250qr including shary sim and blackberry service, and can use unlimited internet.
for iphone you can use internet but it will cost per mb 10qr.
if you use vodafone sim card, you will get 300mb free internet per month till march.
