Barwa Village Wakra

Most of you must be aware of Barwa Village project in Wakra Area. I applied for an apartment in Barwa Village and it will be delivered in February 2010. Barwa advertised the project in a very impressive manner. Yesterday I went there to have a look at the infrastructure and the quality etc and below are my findings:

1) The project is 90% complete, landscape and road works are remaining. Apartments are almost ready to occupy.

2) The quality and standard is outstanding ... better than most of the apartments else where.

3) One problem that I identified is that on ground floor of all blocks, there will be shops. I don't like this idea as I thought that commercial blocks will be separate from residential blocks.

What do you guys think? Is it ok to have shops on the ground floor and apartments in the 1st floor? I wonder what kinds of shops will be there. Below every apartment there is a shop ... I dont understand who designed this ?

Your comments are welcome.

Hi Phoenix, I have checked the apartments, it is not made of hard borad or any steel structure, these are proper buildings like any other apartment in Doha.

@Ines

I agree with you. I asked them to return my payment, but they have refused. I hope that the area doesn't become a mess because of shops !!!

Otherwise, the apartments are excellent, much better than many many residential areas in Doha. It has a big park with children playing area, health club with a big swimming pool, a shopping mall in the center etc.

I Don`t like shops below the apartment... The area will not be a calm one...

If this would happen to me for sure I would sell the apartment.

My wife and I applied for a 2 bed property there and duley handed over the 9,000QAR deposit cheque. and waited to find out if we had been accepted......after a month I called up to find out that they had cancelled our application and informed me I had 24hrs to collect my cheque before they would keep it!!.

The reason for cancelling....not enough children?? we are expecting our first, but much to our suprise you must have a minimum of 3-5 children for a two bed apartment?!.

Err does that sound right to you?. Currently looking for other accomodation??

that's why it is called "mixed-use".

And this is not the only one in Qatar nor around the world.

Well do agree with you that commercial appartments must be separate from Residential but at the same time it would very much convenient if grocery shop is just below your appartment. Good for ladies especially
