They will not allow you and your family even with normal dress trouser or jeans.

Yesterday same time when I showed some other nationalities wearing similar dress inside the park I was told they have SPECIAL permission from the PARK MANAGEMENT.

it may also depend on which side you enter from?

I certainly owe the OP an apology for disbelieving his story. The reason I didn't believe him though was cos I actually went to the aspire around that time, and saw ladies in Saris. But now after reading dani_movies post, I guess this was true right along, though I feel maybe this rule is being pushed by some guards there, and not all the park authorities. Which would explain why some people are being admonished and some not. For the record I do find the rule ridiculous and quite discriminating!

About a year back i was stopped by the security guards saying that i am not allowed to take a DSLR camera inside, He said its ok to take a point n shoot camera.

I said OK, thank you very much and never went there after that.

Today i was enjoying weather in aspire park after rain with my family until this security guard told me that the Shalwar Qameez you are wearing is not allowed...WTF!

i didn't bother to argue with that security guard bcz i now it doesn't make any difference...i don't think that your culture or values get changed by someone wearing his national dress.

Tomorrow if Pakistani president comes to QATAR in Shalwar Qameez and he wants to visit Aspire park what they will tell him that you are not allowed inside???

i am sure someone stupid made this rule...RACIST!

That is rather amazing. I can't for the life of me imagine why they would do this! Not that I'm saying it didn't happen. There are many arbitrary decisions in Qatar I don't pretend to understand the motivation for.

@fATHIMAh........i have seen this incident by my self. i was there with my family and one other family came along with their parents and there ages were around 60 to 70 years nearby. first Security guard comes in front of their way and told them that you are not allowed to go inside .....bcoz the old man is wearing shalwar qameez......he insisted so i ask that why you are not allowing this old man to go inside park........

he replies to me.....that Pakistani, Indian and Sudani national dresses are not allowed.

i surprise .....WHAT? he said yes when we were arguing this thing one Qatari (official) came and reply the same thing....

Thats All true.......

not to believe anything and everything related to us even by known broadcasters, so I'm afraid you will have to present to us some proper evidence that such rules have been established. As of now it sounds quite unbelievable!

and how about ladies in very short skirts or transparent dresses that leaves little to the imagination. I suppose Aspire park is going to be like Rome and London soon. Some of them covered up head to toe and the others who want to feel the air touching their skin while wandering around Aspire park.

well, that's just proving they don't want workers in there... actually, they don't want CHILDREN in there, too, as we found recently! Bikes, roller-skates,baloons kites are not allowed in the park. When we asked why(even in the open spaces)- the guards just couldn't tell us why, and decided to literally threaten us to report us to the police if we don't go and take off our roller skates NOW. They are very celective in what they say and to whom! I have a proof, and showed them photos of Qataris with a kite in the park from previous Friday, but they only told me to keep my voice down and if I have any complains, I have to complain to the Management office, which was quite hard to find... Nevermind, just make your own conclusions of what the purpose of this park is....((((

So lets see what may be allowed:

- Short, shorts.

- Hot pants

- Bikinis

- Tank tops

- Sleeveless vests

Just curious, is it the reaction or acceptance of the concern raised a few days back when someone (the one of whom who actually matter) was stopped wearing shorts a few millimeters above knees.

Not surprised at all, a backlash in progress. Chances are they ment no Lebanese semi bedroom dress as well, but the punishment must go global. Let's see who challenged the rules this time, and we ended with harsher ones.
