for arriving passengers?

My parents are coming with a couple of heavy suitcased and I don't want them to strain themselves.

Sorry if this should be in the questions bit, never sure which will elicit the best response.

Thanks

BAchus - actually my parents would be more annoyed that I had wasted my money and also, they like a little independence and not to be molly coddled. Thanks for the thought though, we can't all like the same things.

AND my mum has been here before and is happy to go through the usual process.

Yes, still porters. 20 qr now plus tip. But I agree with the above. Pay for the Maha services and show your parents that you love them and appreciate them making the huge trip out to Doha. It's a rip-off, but aren't most things around here?

Thanks to you all - I just could not remember if I had seen them when I arrived back in Doha after Xmas. I will let my parents know accordingly

You can very well pay the porters fees at the counter and use their services for a minimum fee. They are good and sure to carry all the heavy suitcases your parents bring. Good luck to you.

LL - thanks, wow that has gone up in a couple of years - used to be QAR15. I will tell them. I remebered to leave them some Riyals at Xmas for the porters to hopefully they will remember to bring the money with them.

Ask your parents give their baggage tickets to the porters upon clearing immigration counters and pay QR 30 to the porters counter.

Yes, Al Maha is the biggest rip off going - thanks anyway. Porters used to cost 15QAR and my parents have been to Qatar before so no need for meet and greet service. thanks for replying though
