this is really sad and as a parent i really feel the pain of loosing a child in such a horrifying circumstance. even to just think about it, is simply heartbreaking. my heart and prayers goes to the family who lost their love ones.i pray that none of it shall happen again and authorities should prioritize this issue.

In case of fire or any emergency,,, just don't panic,,, because if u do, even ur mind stop working.

I know fire is scary but earthquake is more than that,,, nowhere to hide!

to anyone and anywhere, BUT this is NOT the time. Let the family grieves for the losses. Let us respect the pain they carry now. Don't even wish ill for others, no one would surely want this to happen.

Investigating this kind of incident could not be done in one day, I doubt even a week. Let the authorities do their work and if ever they release an official account, then that's the time we should react accordingly.

News coverage from the state media outlets is shockingingly inadequate - absolute rubbish - thank goodness for social media - Doha news, facebook, Twit and yes, to a certain extent QL - without which we would have NO IDEA about what has gone on today. FFS Qatar wake up to 2012!!!!

So SAD for all of us.The most visited place of expats in Doha.

Authorities ought to revisit the safety issues of other public malls and hyper markets.Nurseries be shifted atonce from all public malls if any.

This is the time to support authorities to inspect violations on war footing basis & to avoid such recurrence in other places.

All iconic structures and public malls civil Defence permits be revalidated in the light of new tools and techniques.

As someone said, rolling heads will not bring the kids back but will prevent it of happenning again... Sadly, one learns late about this kind of fatalities :(

The time for soulsearching and retribution will come over the next few days and weeks. Please dont expect too much by way of heads rolling and apportionment of blame, but expect a lot in terms of brushes and carpets.

To start with - at the Press Conference there was no representation from the management of the Mall - unbelievable in this day and age.

that a lot of heads will roll over this incident. The architect who designed the building, the client who accepted the design and the management of Villagio for allowing even ONE square metre of space to be rented where the only access is a lift which automatically shuts down in a fire. I hate saying this but I hope these people all die a long slow and very agonizing death in a fire. That is the only justice that can ever be given to the victims of this tragedy. May the souls of the victims rest in eternal peace and God grant the strength to their relatives to endure this very difficult time.
