Qatar becomes world’s largest urea exporter
Qatar has become the largest exporter of urea in the world with the commissioning of the QR 2.2 billion($610mn) Qafco-6 plant in Mesaeed which the Heir Apparent His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani officially inaugurated on 11 December,2012.
With the Qafco-6 plant in operation, the urea production capacity of the Qatar Fertiliser Company (Qafco) has gone up to 5.6 million tonnes per annum, making Qafco the 4th largest producer and the largest exporter of urea in the world.
Its an irony that the country can't even use 1% of its export of Urea for domestic cultivation.
You really are taking the piss
