nbg - shame I could not get on line to comment after your latest rant.

Your initial comment was specifically designed to be unplesant - why bring it up on what was meant to be a very non controversial topic.

In point of fact I have worked in a very muslim dominated office in the past here and there does not seem to be a trend of decorations - except the sending of cards and e-cards.

As to going into someone's home - I believe in being asked before turning up at someone's house, as I worked with a very conservative group of people, they did not like to invite a non muslim to their house, so sorry I cannot comment on this.

But you must address the chip on your shoulder, as it shines through.

my comment was not negative it was my point of view but u wont understand bcoz racism is part of ur nature

im surprised and wondering that u live in qatar and still dont know wat kind of traditional decoration is put in home's wow this shows ur lack of interest in others celebration specially when ur living in that country.

i never raised a question of taking day off for eid so i cannot enlighten on that u will have to use ur torch of racism to see that.

and im not proud to present my point of view to ppl who r ignorant arrogant and inconsiderate of other ppl's feelings. u must be thankful that ur in a country that has given u an opportunity to earn ur living(tax free) why dont u go back to uk lets see wat wonderful job(with taxes) is waiting for u there.

and plz dont start an internet argument with me unlike you i dont enjoy mocking ppl

nbg - just waiting for someone's negative commment - well done for being the first, hope you are proud of yourself.

Please enlighten me as to the traditional decorations that are usually put up in homes and businesses in Eid?

Also, please enlighten me as to which nasty employers would not allow you to take time off at Eid in the UK to celebrate (of course taken out of your holiday entitlement as I have to take Xmas out of mine, for which I am NOT complaining as this is not a recognised public holiday here, that is fine).

Kinda like Narnia under the reign of the White Witch. Always winter and never Christmas.

C'mon guys, dont you know Qatar has the biggest and tallest Christmas tree in this world!

When you're near Villagio, and its night time, just look up. Its around 35 storeys high, sparkling this season to greet you!

Remember the movie Johnny English, where the French Dude plans to turn Britain into a big-a$$ prison, well, I guess he finally chose Qatar instead of Britain. Everything is so lifeless here. Couple of shiny cars on the roads and couple of empty 50 storey buildings by the seaside, and an empty promise of a glorious future.
