Getting sick in Qatar

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering how everybody gets through the sick season in Qatar? Is there a sick season where people catch the cold and flu? Are the sicknesses a bit more severe compared to living in other countries?

I would think being a hot Arab country, the cold and flu germs don't have much of a chance to spread around!

Did anybody get sick when they first arrived? Should certain foods or water be avoided?

Thanks.

Just like in any other country around the world,Qatar is no exception, yes there is such a period, that's when the season changes from winter to summer and vice-versa.People also get sick during peak winter, and that's usually Dec-Jan.

Nothing specific, but avoid foods that are exposed outside for long and always heat your food well before eating as eveything here is refridgerated. On the contrary, drink plenty of water,as this will flush out the germs and keep you hydrated and healthy.
