A foggy day in Qatar is more fun than the dreary blinding bright days that you see about 360 out of 365 days a year. So who's praying for MORE FOG TODAY!?

DOHA, Qatar (AP)—The Qatar Open final between Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was delayed Saturday because of fog, which caused a slippery court.

The 16th-ranked Monfils, who beat Rafael Nadal in the semifinals, had broken the sixth-ranked Tsonga to go up 1-0 and was down 0-15 in the second game on Saturday when play was stopped.

Gael Monfils of France returns the ball to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga during a final match at the Qatar ATP Open Tennis tournament in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday Jan. 7, 2012.

Organizers announced play would be halted “for a while” because of concerns the slippery court was too dangerous for the players.

As fans waited in their seats, workers with brushes scrubbed the edges of the court. The fog, which occurs during the cooler months at night in the Gulf, drifted past the stadium located in downtown Doha.

Players went to the lockeroom and returned about a half hour later and resumed their match. Organizers said it was the first time in the tournament’s 20-year history that fog had caused a delay.
