What could be the reason why my mobile phone still functions even when I already removed the battery?

Recently, I was watching a billiard match when they announced that mobile phones must be turned off to avoid distraction to the players. Since my mobile phone makes a loud exit tune when turned off, I decided to remove the battery instead. Suddenly, I heard a phone ringing and the people beside me started looking at me. So I checked my phone - to my surprise it was my phone that was ringing. I embarassingly tip toed my way out of the playing hall. Could there be any explanation to this? Until now, my phone is still functioning without a battery.
i am sure that u have not removed the battery as mentioned, but must be switched OFF. Even ur mobile is switched off, it will ring for Alarm and Reminders.
Best way is to keep ur mobile on silence mode.
Trust it will clarify your doubt
Just switch it to 'silent'. Problem solved!
ringing?or is it the alarm?
My Sony Ericsson phone sent me out of a theatre for its recurrent alarm. I turned my phone off and was surprised to hear it ringing. I thought it wasn't mine at first. And then I realized the sound is coming from inside my bag. Do not just turn it off. Remove the battery as well.
What is your phone's model?
That's strange.. you're conserving electricity then..
your phone has built in emergency battery...
That's very very odd. You mean it still works now without a battery? How long does it last before it dies, and what kind of phone is it?
I don't see how this could work at all, unless the phone has some kind of a backup battery inside it in case the battery becomes disconnected, but I've never heard of this before..
Asom, thanks for the warning.
Be carefull, DO NOT use it while recharging, there is some pictures in the net for burning hands of a man whom use its mobile while recharging, espicaaly if it has an electrical mistakes
Best Regards
