Hi , Is there anyone who has bought these new NETBOOKS which are being sold at Carrefour like ACER ASPIRE ONE ranging from 1300 to 2000 QAR. How is their performance, are they worth buying ?
Depend what for u need them. There are many reviews of those "netbooks" on the inet. Acer, Asus, Samsung...
If u are going to buy one of those, then wait for the eeePC 1000 (H/HA/HD) or samsung NC10.
They are not "too small" and really not big. The screen is 10", battery life is more then 4-5h, and the keyboard is user friendly. Non of them has a optical drive. The memory depends. By eeePC u can choose between HDD or SSD (40Gb)and eeePC batery last up to 7.8h. The NC10 has 160Gb HDD...RAM is up to 2GB. Samsung has no Bluetooth....
That depends on what you're intending on using it for. They are called 'netbooks' because they are designed exclusively for surfing the net, and very little else. They will be fine for that. They are just ok for office work, Word etc. If you try editing graphics, playing games, or working with databases you're going to have a very painful experience.
Remember they are firmly targeted at the ultra-mobile market, for light internet / photo management / IM / blogging type stuff, if that's the category you fall under then you'll be fine. Before you invest in a computer you need to be clear on how you'll be using it and what you'll be using it for.
